illustration in "der Freitag"

... published on 15th / 16th of october in the weekly, berlin based newspaper "der freitag". It was an article about apologies and that was especially funny because I happens to me that I always apaologize a bit more than I actually need to. // Unter anderem diese Illustration habe ich für den "Freitag" gemacht, eine Wochenzeitung aus Berlin. Lustigerweise ist das genau mein Thema, weil ich mich ständig für Sachen entschuldige, für die ich garnichts kann.

We switch our illustration machine on from time to time. In the summer more often than in wintertime. We - a group of students and alumnis from the Bauhaus University in Weimar - operate this machine that turns wishes of the audience into illustrations. Wir - eine Gruppe von Studenten und Absolventen der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar - betreiben diese Maschine, die die Wünsche des Publikums in Illustratonen umwandelt. hommage à Erwin Wurm

After visiting the sculpture / installation "Selbstporträt als Essiggurkerl / Selfportrait as a gherkin" by Erwin Wurm in the Museum der Moderne in Salzburg which was very appealing and my friend Ines liked a lot - it was very tempting to do portraits of us too.
Here we are :

We went visiting a friend that is attending a painting course at the summer academy here - that seems to be quiete advisable.
Saw Salzburg laying to our feet from the surrounding hills ... Yes, million of tourists are right - Salzburg is beautifull! Just walk with them in the "Mirabell Gardens" - you might like garden architecture or not - it is quiete something.... I am used to tourists in Weimar, but here is almost nothing but tourist between the pretty houses, the floating river and lovely gardens.
Just try to avoid fortress, if you don´want to feel like in a cattle drive. You can surely have this experience much nicer at the mountain pastures of the surrounding mountains.
Sooo, we saw lot of art ... and also watched the very recommandable film the "Julie & Julia" about cooking, blogging and idols - which was extremely funny!

We spent the weekend in a friend´s garden near Nürnberg, it was just wonderfull ....

End of the year´s exhibition at Bauhaus-University in Weimar. We are taking part as Alumnis at our atelier house KreativEtage in the heart of Weimar. // Jahresendausstellung der Bauhaus-Uni in Weimar. Wir nehmen als Alumni an der Ausstellung teil. Ausstellungsraum ist geöffnet von heute bis Sonntag in unsrem Atelierhaus KreativEtage im Herzen von Weimar.

cubes for stage

We are still working on the stage design for the new play "Geschichten aus der Vorstadt des Universums" for kids by "Theater im Karton" in Jena. Elise Richter and me spent the weekend whitening the cubes and drawing on them. We did sweets, a busy street, a whale, houses, waves ... the cubes will be an active part of the stage and combined variously. // Die Arbeiten am Bühnebild für das "Theater im Karton sind noch nicht abgeschloßen. Dieses Wochenende haben Elise Richter und ich die Kuben / Elemente des Bühnenbilds geweißt und anschließend bemalt.

action drawing + illumat in berlin

The last weekend the illumat-team spent visiting our friendly atelier Musenstube in Berlin. For a drawing action they covered the whole atelier with paper and people could draw on everything ... sofas, lamps, walls ... The next two days we did the illustration machine again, while a block party took place in 48-h-Neukölln. What a nice and refreshing trip!!
